Expression of Interest for Royal Society University Research Fellowships
Centre for Chemical Research20 June 2024
The Department of Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London is looking to support applicants for the Royal Society University Research Fellowship (URF).
The URF is a prestigious fellowship programme offered by the Royal Society to support outstanding scientists in the early stages of their careers. It provides fellows with up to eight years of funding (covering their salary, research expenses, and travel costs) and a range of benefits to help them establish themselves as independent researchers.
The URF is open to researchers in all areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics who have 3-8 years of research experience after obtaining their PhD. Career breaks are taken into consideration.
Our School has been very successful at securing these fellowships over the years, currently hosting ten URFs, of which two are in the Department of Chemistry, both on proleptic appointments.
The deadline for expressions of interest is the 28th of July at 11.59 pm (23:59) British Summer Time. Expressions of interest should include a current CV (up to 2 pages), a summary of their proposed research (up to 1 page) and a brief description of any large or expensive (>£10k) equipment required for it. We particularly encourage researchers from underrepresented groups in the field to apply. For more information on the application process, please reach out to:
