DrosAfrica Charity

Palacios has adapted her research on the fruit fly Drosophila to the creation of the charity DrosAfrica (registration number 117956), for scientific education and research in Africa. DrosAfrica is using Drosophila as a mean to educate and mentor schools (both teachers and students) on biomedical questions that can be studied in the laboratory, and in general on the scientific method. DrosAfrica is also educating UG and PG students and university faculty on how to use Drosophila as a model system to understand human biomedical questions in health and disease.
