Interests
Dr. Rodolfo Freitas was employed as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Synthetic Fuel Utilisation by the QMUL in 2023. Before this appointment, he held the "
IF@ULB" Postdoctoral Fellowship since 2021, co-funded by the Université libre de Bruxelles and the European Commission within the framework of MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE actions (H2020). He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2020. His research interest is focused on Machine Learning with applications to fuel property and combustion emission predictions; Molecular dynamics simulation; Thermofluid Modelling/Simulation for Sustainable Energy Utilisation; Development of Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) techniques for calibration and validation of simplified (reduced) chemical kinetics models; Modeling of turbulence-chemistry interactions for combustion models.
