Research
nanoparticles, thermoresponsive nanogels, microplastics, environmental impact, drug delivery, colloids
Interests
The interests of the group are centered around materials chemistry, with three main research streams: (i) functional nanomaterials for drug delivery and sensors; (ii) structure and interfacial behaviour of nanoparticles; (iii) plastics and their impact in environmental pollution. In the latest research the team is also developing an interest in the artificial weathering of plastic, their characterisation and the evaluation of their impact on human health. The group is currently part of two large international consortia:Bio2Brain: bio2brain.eu/
