Seminar Title: Current Research on Extracellular Vesicles in China - from Bench to Bedside

About the speaker:

Professor Qian Wang, MD, PhD is Professor and Chief Physician at Zhujiang Hospital, Southern Medical University. He earned both his MD and PhD from Southern Medical University and later undertook postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford. Prof. Wang's career spans precision diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, fundamental and applied studies on extracellular vesicles, and high-quality hospital management.

Professor Wang has held numerous senior leadership positions at both the hospital and national level, including President of the Chinese Society of Extracellular Vesicles, Vice Chairman of the Medical Laboratory Committee of the Chinese Medical Association, Vice President of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association - Laboratory Physicians Branch, and Vice Chairman of the International Healthcare Committee of the Chinese Hospital Association. In addition, he is a member of the National Teaching Steering Committee for Medical Technology under the Ministry of Education of China.

As a scientist, he has received five national and provincial awards, published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, and contributed to eight academic books in both Chinese and English. As an educator, he has supervised more than 120 PhD and MSc students, making substantial contributions to the training of the next generation of clinical and academic leaders.
