Queen Mary honorary visiting professor is recognised for a career advancing antenna measurement theory, practice and education.
Professor Stuart Gregson, Honorary Visiting Professor in Queen Mary University of London's School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, has been named the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association's (AMTA) 2026 Distinguished Achievement Awardee.
The award recognises Gregson's lasting contributions to antenna measurement and the wider electromagnetic measurement community. His work spans near-field antenna measurement, finite array mutual coupling, computational electromagnetics, antenna and radome performance prediction, compact antenna test range design and simulation, electromagnetic scattering, and 5G over-the-air measurements.
Gregson has also helped train the next generation of antenna measurement specialists through teaching and student supervision. He is principal author of two textbooks on antenna measurements: Principles of Planar Near-Field Antenna Measurements and Theory and Practice of Modern Antenna Range Measurements. His Queen Mary profile describes his research and career in more detail.
A long-standing AMTA supporter, Gregson served on the association's Board of Directors and helped establish its Growth Committee in 2021. He received AMTA's Outstanding Service Award in 2022.
Gregson is expected to accept the award at the 48th AMTA Annual Meeting and Symposium, taking place 1–6 November 2026 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Austin, Texas. The conference programme includes an awards banquet on Wednesday evening. More information is available on the AMTA 2026 conference website.
The Centre for Electronics congratulates Professor Gregson on this distinguished recognition of his contributions to antenna measurement research, education and the AMTA community.
