Interests

My project investigates how cardiomyocytes build a molecular memory of their mechanical environment through the mechanosensitive protein Talin. We study how force-dependent conformational changes in Talin, regulated by Src family kinases, sustain mechanical information and signalling at costameres. Understanding this process will reveal how mechanical cues drive persistent signalling in cardiomyocytes relevant to cardiomyopathy and fibrosis.
