Research

zebrafish, development, comparative cognition, addiction, neurobiology

Interests

All aspects of the use of zebrafish as a developmental and behavioural model organism including cell biological and behavioural analysis in this species. Current research focuses on cell and developmental processes underlying vulnerability to behavioural and metabolic disease as well as comparative psychology approaches to cognition and psychiatric disorders. We collaborate with human geneticists to explore the cell biology underlying genetic variants associated with human disease phenotypes, and to test hypotheses regarding mechanisms of gene action, and with evolutionary geneticists to explore genetic control of behaviour.
